In the news today: Who owned the Kroger Property at MLK and Raleigh Road? They sold it to Pope, NC Budget Director (What kind of budget cuts are they doing on medicaid, educators pay, and according to Larry Hall we dont know what else?) and owner of Roses and MaxWay for, as I was told less than 50% of tax value or -2.5 million to put in a Roses and something else. Danny Coleman is supporting what he says is a much needed grocery store....Who said anything about putting in a grocery store? Martin Baptist Church disagrees with the politics of Pope and is calling for a boycott. This body of Christ is also willing to drive people to other local stores to shop. Didnt that advisory transportation group just hear about citizens increase in fares making it more expensive to take a bus to Wal-Mart and make several trips to carry smaller bags? Whats up SE Raleigh? I was invited to a new group forming a grocery and culture coop for other parts of food desert SE. Is Eugene Weeks involved? I heard Commissioner James West supported it. Is that true? Enlighten me. Thanks.
