In the secular world there is room for only one Kanye, one Drake, one Rihanna, one Eminem, one Katy Perry, one Jay-Z, one Lil Wayne ..... the moment Christian artists realize the same rules of musical originality apply to CHH, we just may get respect from unbelievers who often criticize our music with accusations of he/she is trying to sound like (popular secular artist). Having unknowing church kids give us nods of approval is one thing....the unbeliever is not so easily impressed. Our infatuation with popular secular artists - with their gimmicks - has gone too far. Thank God for all the artists who have musical and spiritual integrity - not bringing moldy stolen leftovers before the King of Kings.....but some of the stuff Im hearing lately is shameful....word up. If youre an artist reading this and you know this doesnt apply to you - dont feel some type of way about it. If it does apply to you, stop your artistic laziness and musical sacrilege - it brings no honor to the King and makes our movement look like a joke.
