In the thirty+ years I’ve been a follower of my Lord Jesus, life did not become a “bowl of cherries”. The blessings bestowed on me were not blessings of wealth, beauty, fame or fortune. On the contrary, my life as a Christian has looked similar to many others’ lives. I’ve lost a job due to downsizing, home and car due to unemployment, abusive relationships and children born outside of wedlock. But for me, in all the joys and during all the trials, the struggles, the tears, I’ve been comforted and given hope. I have learned more about myself, my Savior, and have been able, because of God’s Word, to keep life’s circumstances in the context of God’s big story. One day, when my race is finished here, I’ll walk and talk and worship Him in person!
