In this edition of #ThrowbackThursday, we take you inside a rescue mission not unlike the one we performed on Dec 15th. On November 29, 2012, the 129th RQW successfully completed a complex, overwater rescue of an injured ship hand from a Marshall Islands flagged merchant vessel approximately 300 miles off the coast of Mexico. Click the link below to view footage from the Cary Rickmers Rescue! FUN FACT: The Cary Rickmers Rescue mission highlights the diversity of the highly trained and capable airmen at the 129th RQW. In addition to the specialized capabilities of the air crews and pararescuemen, 2 airmen who speak Filipino dialects served as translators for the non-English-speaking ship crew and aided in translation for the badly injured ship hand, facilitating both his medical care and support throughout the rescue process. #DiversityIsAForceMultiplier #TBT #129RQW #ANG #CNG #TOML
