In this modern age we live in, there appears to be this pervading anti-government sentiment that seems to manifest solely in words, and seems to stem from irrational propaganda. Theres nothing inherently wrong with being anti-government, buy the goal should be to improve the government --not put it down with words and do nothing about it. Yet, the government is a very small part of most peoples lives. There is a different crossroad people are not talking too much about. Manufacturing and the control production used to be how big business made money and maintained the status quo. But, computers are thinking machines, internet connects us all, and media no longer requires a palpable physical medium to own; as such, now more than ever, ideas are what make money to such an extreme degree that people have invented the term Intellectual Property (IP). The control of ideas, i.e., the control of thought, is the corporate ambition these days. The crossroad is, what kind of world do you want to live in? A place where you have to pay month to month to use software, lease music, and make a jail out of all the electronics you own, as they monitor and artificially constrain what you can do? Or, a place where ideas are free and open, and you pay what its actually worth? In real life you vote with your actions and your dollars. Are you paying people to add tolls to thought? Unfortunately, everyone is.
