In times of trouble, may the Lord answer your cry! May the name of the God of Jacob keep you safe from all harm! May he send you help from his sanctuary and strengthen you from Zion. May he remember all your gifts, and look favorably on your burnt offerings. May he grant you your heart’s desire and may all your plans succeed. May we shout for joy when we hear of your victory and raise a victory banner in the name of our God. Psalm 20:1-5. May the Lord answer all your prayers! Now I know that the Lord rescues his anointed king. He will answer him from his holy heaven. And rescue him by his great power. Some nations boast of their chariots and horse, but we boast in the name of the Lord our God. These nations will fall down and collapse, but we will rise and stand firm. Give victory to our king, O Lord! Answer our cry for help. Psalm 20:5-9. For royal power belongs to the Lord. He rules all the nations. Let the rich of the earth feast and worship. Bow down before him all who are mortal, all whose lives will end in dust. Our children will also serve him. Future generations will hear about the wonders of the Lord. His righteous acts will be told to those not yet born. They will hear about everything he has done. Psalm 22:28-31. WORDS OF WISDOM I love all who love me. Those who search will surely find me. I have riches and honor, as well as enduring wealth and justice. My gifts are better than gold even the purest of gold, my wages better than sterling silver! I walk in righteousness, in paths of justice. Those who love me will inherit wealth. I will fill their treasures. Proverbs 8:17-21. PRAISE FOR BELIEVING Some men carried a paralyzed man on a sleeping mat. They tried to take him into see Jesus, but they could not reach him because of the crowd. So they went to the roof and took off some roof tiles, then lowered the man down into the crowd, right in front of Jesus. Seeing their faith, Jesus said to the man, Young man your sins are forgiven. Luke 5:18-20. Jesus was impressed not by the faith of the man who was healed but by the faith of the men that brought him to be healed. We too can be an example to our friends, showing them the love Jesus has for us. Look for opportunities to bring people to Christ. Our words and actions speak volumes about our Love of Christ. Jesus knew what the Pharisees were thinking, that only God can forgive sin! So he asked them, “Why do you question this in your hearts? Isn’t it easier to say, ‘your sins are forgiven or stand up and walk’? So I will prove to you that the Son of Man has the authority on earth to forgive sins.” Then Jesus turned to the paralyzed man and said “Stand up, pick up your mat and go home!” Luke 5:22-24. The forgiveness of sin is for all who have faith, not just the lame and the sick. But that we all can have a renewed relationship with him despite the things we have done wrong. The Greek word (aphiemi), translated means forgiven; to let go, to give up a debt, to get rid of. Christ paid the penalty for our sins and they can no longer be held against us.
