In tonights middle school boys matchup, the MLC Dragons took on Wish-Waverly at MLC. While the final score was 53-23 in favor of Wish-Waverly, it was the spirit of the home team MLC Dragons that really stood out. Here are the highlights: -6th grade guard Jhailan Wilson played as if he stood 7 feet tall. He was a source of inspiration to his teammates as he played hard defense on players who were over a foot taller than him. On several occasions he even stepped up in the paint to provide help defense against driving opponents. His efforts brought a lot of well deserved praise from his team as well as his coaches. -8th grade guard Kirmani Warren once again displayed picture perfect defense and hustle, even while his team faced a double digit deficit. Proving he can play on both sides of the court, Kirmani also recorded a few key assists during the game. -8th grade forward Devon Kramek went into BEAST MODE during the second half of the game, driving the lane on multiple occasions while scoring 12 points. He also made his coaches extremely proud by boxing out and grabbing a team leading 8 rebounds. Seeing a team play hard while being out-sized and outscored is something all coaches hope for, and thats just what the Dragons did this evening!
