In what was his first trip to Afghanistan, Al Murray, aka the Pub - TopicsExpress

In what was his first trip to Afghanistan, Al Murray, aka the Pub Landlord, visited Camp Bastion to meet with troops and to deliver 2 live stand-up sets. The visit was aptly named ‘Operation LOCK-IN’, with entertainment also provided by fellow comedian Matthew ‘Maff’ Brown, and musicians Sinead Quinn and Brooke Supple. Like all previous CSE shows, the visitors were set a frenetic programme in order to maximise their time on the ground, as well as ensuring that as many people as possible had the ability to meet the entertainers. The programme serials captured the tremendous work UK Service personnel are undertaking in support of the Afghanistan National Security Force, and their efforts to redeploy capability to the UK as combat operations in Afghanistan conclude towards the end of 2014. Our thanks go to Al, Maff, Sinead and Brooke for their support and fantastic performances during their stay.
