In your continuing quest for a really great summer, don’t forget to stop in Gas City Tuesday night at 7 p.m. in the Gas City Park to hear some old friends from Grant County singing their hearts out- Classic Voice, with their renditions of favorites from the 50’s to the 90’s. The group includes Doug Hartle, Barb Hartle Jones and Dave Homer, who have been performing all around Indiana since 2011. The brother-sister duo started singing for church gatherings in 1974 and has been going strong on stage since. Hartle says “I can’t remember when I was not singing.” Their performances, continuing from family fun through high school and the LBD trio in 2009, developed into Classic Voice when they added Doug’s former Posse member Dave Homer in 2011. Homer, a 1972 Marion High grad, former Marion City Councilman, and prosecutor’s office investigator, had been a lead singer in The Posse, a well-known and well-rounded group of law enforcement officers organized by former Grant County Sheriff John Lawson.
