In your time of trial and testing flee to the Tower of Eternal Strength! The name of the Lord is a strong tower, The righteous run to it and are safe. Proverbs 18:10 NKJV Who can be righteous today? Who determines if a person is righteous or not? God created the universe. He determines what is right and wrong. God sets the standards for righteousness. What is the definition of righteousness? The best definition of righteousness I have ever heard is right standing with God. God is just today. He is Holy today. Every person who has ever lived must be judged by the same standards. God does not use the Ten Commands to determine if a person is righteous or not. God does not grade on a scale of 1 to 10 to determine if a person is righteous or not. God’s standard for righteousness is faith in His Son. A person who has been born again by faith in the risen Lord is righteous today. Without faith in Jesus Christ it is impossible to please God today. If you have been born again by faith in Jesus Christ you are righteous in the eyes of God today! A strong tower is a place of safety. God is telling us that the Lord’s name is a place of safety. What does that mean? Most people do not object when we mention God? When we mention Jesus it does cause a problem. There is power in the name of Jesus. One day every knee will bend and every head will bow to the name of Jesus Christ! The name of the Lord is not magic. Using the Lord’s name does not grant us special powers or abilities today. We cannot create or destroy by using the Lord’s name. When we serve God we represent Him. We carry the authority of His name. Does that mean we can never be hurt while serving God? Does it mean we will always be successful in every circumstance or trial we face? No it does not. The Lord wants us to have an eternal perspective today. We are eternal beings. The name of the Lord is a strong tower the righteous run into it and they are safe today. The Lord is mighty on behalf of His people today. His power and authority are absolute today. No one or anything can oppose His will or prosper in opposition to Him today. Our God is mighty to save today. He will save us from anything that is not within His will today. We will live in His blessing and under His protection for all time if we live by faith in Him today. Are you experiencing trial and testing today. Are you hurting, lonely or brokenhearted today. The name of the Lord is a strong tower. Run to Him today. He will breathe healing and restoration into your life. He will keep you safe if you trust Him with your life today and everyday!
