Inclement weather in Kargil Police rescue teams on alert Last night heavy showers coupled with cloud bursts brought flash floods and accumulation of mud lead to closure of roads in Kargil. 2 feet of mud was reported at Town Kargil, while in Titikchumik 5-6 feet of mud accumulated on roads and in Hunderman 7-8 feet of mud lead to blockade of road. Heavy land slide triggered by rains lead to the closure of Kargil- Leh National Highway at Pushkum area as the road was washed away. Kargil police rescued nine persons while as one injured person was hospitalized. More details to follow.
