Infinite souls and alphanauts, the votes are in... Here are the three finalists for this months reading (read all the way to the end, for a disclosure thats bound to make everyone happy) :) First and second place, a tie between... THE GREAT GATSBY and GREAT EXPECTATIONS :D What a GREAT pair, eh? And on third place, arguiably science fictions greatest saga: DUNE. The rest of the nominees shall RISE AGAIN next month, as well as new books and authors. So... Disclosures here: You can read ANY book you like AND STILL talk about it, discuss it, love it, hate it, make it rain or make it burn for ages... Whatever we choose every month to read, every choice is valid in the end, well just give a bit more attention to the book in question. But everything can change, and change is good, so keep the change, okay, chaps? ;) Oh, who wins, then, you ask? My money is on Gatbsy. Yesterdays meeting made it quite clear its a favorite. Maybe Leonardo Di Caprio had a lot to do with it ;) Though this I tell you all: Its short (a poetically brisk 180 page story), its got around 3 good adaptations to the big screen, its got one awesome audiobook read by Tim Robbins, and it will change you. You will always remember Jay Gatsby after this. As far as GREAT EXPECTATIONS go, thats as best as I can put it ;) Those who want to read Dickens, be merry and welcome. I say next month. February with Dickens :) Its his birthday month, too, hooray! And as far as DUNE goes, hear me out, lads: I SHALL CREAT THE DUNE BOOK CLUB wing in this castle. Whos with me? :D
