Information Technology Specialist II – DatabaseAnalyst Position #00119 Charlottesville, Virginia Hiring Range: $55,000 minimum – starting salary depends on experience (Pay Band 5) Duties: The Virginia Department of Forestry is seeking an organized, team-oriented professional to support and maintain agency specific enterprise databases, GIS databases and applications. Duties include: evaluating user needs for report generation, application changes, and modifications; acting as technical resource on applications development and/or enhancement projects; designing and implementing changes to existing applications; implementing formal change control procedures; and maintaining technical and user documentation on existing applications. Qualifications: B.S. in Computer Information Systems or arelated field; or equivalent experience required. Demonstratedknowledge of programming and systems analysis; significant programming, systems analysis, and database administrationexperience; demonstrated ability in .NET, ASP, HTML, JavaScript, Microsoft SQL server 2008+, and SQL Server Reporting Services 2008+, and ESRI ArcGIS Server 10+ databases; ability to work independently; excellent organizational skills; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a diverse team of individuals; demonstrated excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills; valid driver’s license; ability to travelaround the state and stay overnight on occasion; and ability to use a PC and Microsoft Office software required. Experience with ESRI web GIS applications strongly desired. A fingerprint-based criminal history check is required for final candidate.
