Inside Insurance - Keeping employees on the right snack track! by Jordan Hemingway People all over the country are striving to live healthier lives, and this includes eating well! MMG is following the trend and putting forth an effort to help employees’ live healthy lifestyles. MMG has a wellness committee that coordinates various events in an effort to promote a healthy lifestyle. One of these events is called the PRODUCE PALETTE. Every 3rd Wednesday of the month, MMG provides fresh fruits or vegetables as a snack for morning break. The idea is to help employees eat well, while also showing them how easy it is to prepare healthy snacks. There is also a focus on the color of fruits and vegetables provided – a different is color provided each month! The idea is that each color of fruits and vegetables has its own health benefits associated with it. For example, one month may be red fruit so the trays consist primarily of red fruit such as watermelon, strawberries, or red apples. This is meant to highlight and educate employees on the heart and lung benefits associated with red foods. It is nice to see MMG promoting healthy eating habits, and who doesn’t appreciate a free, healthy, and great tasting snack!?
