Inspiration Friday - Street Outreach Rapid Response Team (SORRT) has been working very closely with a man who had severe frostbite & had to have both feet amputated. He was recently released from a medical rehab facility last week. SORRT advocated to the Housing Committee to make him a priority for housing. Meanwhile, COT agreed to place him in a hotel until a unit becomes available as he’s currently sleeping on the streets as a double amputee in a wheelchair. Yesterday, SORRT took him to obtain his state ID that he’s not had in over 15 years. Response from SORRT employee, I could have cried yesterday because he had the biggest smile on his face and said, “Thank you for helping me.” I told him we’re finally going to get him off these streets.
