Inspiration I was sitting around thinking about how I was going - TopicsExpress

Inspiration I was sitting around thinking about how I was going to play my character in Wildstar just now, and I got to thinking what movies/TV-series/games/books/whatever would be good for inspiration. And while most of these are obvious, and some even silly, I just wanted to make a post about it and maybe see where other people get their ideas from. So feel free to post your muses on here, and perchance we can get some new ideas by sharing. Games: Borderlands & Borderlands 2 - Romping around on a strange planet, shooting up bad guys and killing random wildlife. Yeah, that sounds familiar, and the humor is an integrated part of the experience. Dishonored - Bit of a strange duck perchance, but I really get a bit of a steam-punk wibe from Wildstar. Is it just me, or... SWTOR - Mostly the part about being a crew on a ship going from place to place to piss people off (dont tell me I was the only one playing my SWTOR character that way...). TV-series: Firefly - Given the concept for our guild, this one is a given. If we can accomplish anything even remotely close to the banter going down on Serenity I will be one happy camper. Red Dwarf - Same reason as the above, although the humor is even more off the hinges. Cowboy Bebop - Absolutely amazing anime series with character concepts that you can almost just...steal for your characters in Wildstar. Farscape - Aliens of various species tossed together by chance and hunted by an evil empire. Movies: Serenity - Duh. Star Wars (OT) - Tell me youve never imagined being a part of the gang on the Millennium Falcon, I dare you. Avatar - Hunting aliens/soldiers through a planet filled with strange lifeforms. Bet well get our fill. Fifth Element - Pompous evil overlords, a strange ancient power threatening the planet. I can roll with that. Books: Leviathan, Behemoth and Goliath by Scott Westerfeld and Keith Thompson - Again, its the steampunk wibe getting to me. The Discworld series by Terry Pratchett - The humor obviously, but also his ability to make somewhat ridiculous characters just work within the plot. Retribution Falls by Chris Wooding - A rag-tag crew on a beat up ship gets framed and has to play some very high odds to get out of the jam. Yeah! So, Ive shown you mine, now you show me yours! :)
