Instalment #3 A Sculptors Story Years ago when I sculpted I had the bare necessities as far as tools were concerned; a hammer, some files, a chisel and some sanding papers, and I thought I was so cool having such a collection. But when I began sculpting again I realized that my old tools were outdated and useless and I didnt even bother bringing them to the Studio. Incredible new tools were now being used, time saving devices and all sorts of bits, even diamond tools were now the rigour, and I got even more excited about sculpting. If youre not a sculptor you wont know just expensive our tools can get, but its quite an investment. And then theres stone....if youre anything like me you wont enjoy working on one stone at a time. And I dont...at all times I need a stash of available stone, in different colours and shapes. So, when I get inspired I go over to my stash and select just the perfect stone for what Im about to carve. If youre a sculptor youll relate to this and if youre not you might think were nuts, but we think stone and we even dream stone sometimes. ....to be continued
