Insurance/Human Error: 1 Us: 0 Man, what a day Janice Eaton Forman and I had at Moffitt Cancer Center! Oyyyy... So Mom was all set to have a PET scan and wasnt able to have it done because her blood sugar was too high (it was 240 and they only do the scan if its under 200). Doctors were very surprised when we told them that shes never been diagnosed diabetic...but well be seeing our primary care physician tomorrow morning to address getting her blood sugar under control. Afterwards, she was supposed to have a CT scan, but we were told that our insurance was still being authorized and that she shouldve never been scheduled to have these tests done today in the first place. I know Im stating the obvious, but insurance companies are up there with the likes of He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named... So after fasting since last night, Mom was not able to have either scans done today. Meanwhile, Fridays procedure may not be able to happen until the scans happen. Keep your fingers crossed that the doctors are able to get these roadblocks taken care of so we can keep. moving. forward.
