Interested in research? Want to learn more about the how to critique research articles? Want to obtain a research position on campus? Or do you just want to gain leadership experience on campus? Then look no further! UF’s Medical Journal Society is striving to promote the awareness of groundbreaking science, math, and engineering advancements directly relating to the medical fields. At our core, we are a journal sharing and learning club. At each of our meetings we open with a brief introduction and announcements, then we listen to one or more guest researchers who speak about papers they have written in order to help undergraduates to readily understand how to read them. Each year we will host a medical research symposium that will be open to all students involved in medical related research. We are also hosting MED Talks periodically where we will bring in current researchers (both faculty members & students) that will give brief summaries of their work in a TED Talks style. Each Director will head a committee of general club members who will assist the Director wherever needed. The Director will also be in charge of monitoring the good-standing of your committee. MJS is now accepting applications for the 2014-2015 Director, and Assistant Director positions. Applicants are expected to be hardworking, capable, and passionate about spreading awareness of current and past research. The deadline for submission is Friday, September 12th at 11:59 pm. Interviews will be scheduled proceeding the deadline.
