Interesting Challenge, Lynn. What was the #1 song on the billboard charts on your birthday for the first 10 years of your life? Start with the day you were born. This is the music you probably heard as a child that affected your musical tastes later. April 14, 1971 - 80 71 - Just My Imagination - The Temptations (Me and Bobby McGee before, and Joy to the World after!) 72 - A Horse With No Name - America (First Time Ever I Saw Your Face after) 73 - The Night The Lights Went Out In Georgia - Vicki Lawrence (Tie a Yellow Ribbon Round The Old Oak Tree) 74 - TSOP (The Sound Of Philadelphia) - MFSB featuring The Three Degrees (followed Hooked on a Feeling, Bennie and the Jets, and preceded The Loco-Motion) 75 - Philadelphia Freedom - Elton John (after Lovin You) 76 - Disco Lady - Johnnie Taylor (replaced December 1963 Oh, What a Night) 77 - Dancing Queen - ABBA (followed by Dont Give Up On Us) 78 - Night Fever - Bee Gees (knocked off Thicker Than Water - Andy Gibb, which replaced Stayin Alive. It was a Gibb Family year...) 79 - What a Fool Believes - Doobie Brothers (I Will Survive the week before) 80 - Call Me - Blondie (replaced Another Brick in the Wall) I added some of the preceding and following songs, because they often had more impact on me. Of them all, I can only not immediately recall TSOP - Im pretty amazed at the lack of one hit wonders, and the fact that I can still recall all but one of these songs.
