Interesting report came out today that makes me question those that voted for Obama. Hows that change working out for you? In states that voted for Obama income inequality, and poverty is worse than in states that voted for Romney or McCain. Hmm so the party that is for the people (LOL) is harming them. Unfortunately those that are at the lower end of the income spectrum also tend to be less educated so they will NEVER figure this out or understand it. With all of that said I am not saying that this isnt a serious issue it is but unfortunately the states that have improved in the area of income inequality are run by Republicans and their improvements have been dwarfed by the deterioration in Democrat run states. To improve this situation we need to allow the market to work. Whether it be the labor market, market for goods and services or whatever. They need less interference, this is proven by the fact the states that limit interference have had improvements. The debates and issues currently being looked at specifically minimum wage need to take a step back. Research and understand that a higher minimum wage will increase Unemployment Rate as researched and stated in a recent CBO report. Higher Unemployment will in turn lead to a higher Gini-coefficient (Income inequality measurement) higher the number the worse it is. Should are employees be paid a livable wage? Sure but that is not what minimum wage is designed for. Stop looking to blame employers for your lack of initiative. If you disagree fine you are entitled to your opinion. To those that disagree and have their own business, with employees then pay them more than they are worth and see how far that gets you. I guarantee that within 2 years (probably less) you will go the way of the dinosaur. Ask yourself what value do my employees bring to company. The fact of the matter is simple for a business to be successful you pay your employees based on their worth. Specifically that what they provide your company is double in value to what you PAY them. You want $10/hr give me $20/hr worth of value.
