International Competition for Science, Mathematics, Mental ability and Electronics 2014 (Quanta) : Dhaka College Team Pursuing the glorious success , Dhaka College is going to participate in “International Competition for Science, Mathematics, Mental ability and Electronics 2014 ” from 15th to 18th November in Lucknow, India. The competitions include a Debate, Quizzes, a Mental Ability Test, Robot races and a water craft race christened The Aqua Challenge. As we have to send a team of six along with team leader and deputy team leader, Dhaka College Science Club has taken the opportunity to set up a livable team for “QUANTA”. This program will enable you to experience a great deal of international activities as well as widen your knowledge. We are committed to make a team of 6 which will be a perfect combination of passionate, talented, smart, astute,creative and techy enthusiasts. Prerequisite 1. Applicants must have to be ready for making a passport. 2. Applicant should be passionate about Mathematics, Physics and Basic knowledge. 3. Applicants should have the ability to bear travel cost ( 10,000-12,000 BDT) [NB: A stipend might have been granted from the office of the principal] 4. Applicant must have to be fluent in English ****Open for Class of 2015 and 2016. ( Class 11-12)**** Timeline 1. Application period : September 1,2014 - September 10, 2014 2. Application evaluation period: April: September 11,2014 - September 12, 2014 3. Selection Test & Interview: September 13,2014 4. Result and Team announcement: September 14, 2014 6. Request for Passport: Before September 20, 2014 7. Preparation/camp period: October 15, 2014 - November 10, 2014 8. Request for Visa: October 25, 2014 9. Travel Itinerary Confirmation: November 05, 2014 Selection Process As it is an international event and based on team performance, we need to go through a selective process. It’s not so tough but not so easy. But anyone , fulfilling, the pre-requirements can dream for it. We divided the process into 3 phases. Every phase is important. Even, your online/offline application bears a significant percentage of credit towards your final marks 1. Application ( 15% towards the final score) : You must have to answer the questions correctly. Otherwise your application would get a rejection. 2. Selection Test: ( 65% towards the final score): The selection test consists of 3 parts. A.Mathematics ,Physics,Chemistry,Biology and Astronomy and IQ Test : Question will be from your book. Format: MCQ B. English Test: Consists of 2 section. Reading and Writing. English will be alike to TOEFL’s reading and writing part. But it’ll be easy. You need to answer MCQ questions based on passage(s) and write a short essays on a imaginary situations. C. Personality Test: DCSC is giving the opportunity to track your personality type. Its all about yourself which will help us to figure out who you are. There is nothing to be worried about. You just need choose some words based on character. 3. Interview: ( 20% towards the final score): You have to face a well-behaved interview committee. you will be asked question about yourself NOT FROM TEXTBOOK. You should be ready to answer questions on imaginary situation. ( For example : Suppose, you are a teacher.
