International snooker tournament 25-27 July 2014 Minsk - Belarus Dear Friends, On behalf of the Belarusian Billiard Sports Association, I am pleased to invite you to participate in an international snooker tournament The Minsk Snooker Open. The aim of the tournament is to promote snooker and develop closer relations among snooker federations. Please send the completed entry form to [email protected] according to the format: 1 player frоm each country are automatically seeded into the main draw (the highest ranked players of the national ranking or at the discretion of the federation), qualifying round is opened to everyone. (Country organizer reserves the right to allocate any free spaces at its discretion). Closing date: 24 July 2011 at 12-00 pm. Visa support: Tournament organizer is ready to provide an invitation letter if you require a visa to travel to Belarus. Please provide the following details as soon as possible to get an invitation letter: player’s full name, date of birth, passport number, passport issue and expiry dates. Tournament schedule: Closing date: 24 July 2014 Draw – 24 July 2014 (it will be published on: snooker.by) Opening Ceremony: 25 July 2014 at 10 am in the snooker club “Klassik-1” Qualifying round: 25 July 2014 Main Draw: 26 July 2014 Final Stage: 27 July 2014. Format: Tournament has three stages: qualifying round, main stage and final stage. Qualifying round: double elimination, 8 players will qualify into the main draw. Matches are best of 3, matches in the elimination round – 1 frame. Main draw: 16 players (8 seeded and 8 qualifiers). Double elimination until quarter-finals. All matches are best of 3 frames. Final Stage: 8 players, all matches are best of 5 frames. There is no match for the 3d place. Prize money: Total prise fund is USD $1000. The breakdown is shown below. The winner – 40% + trophy and medal. The runner up – 20% + medal. 3d-4th place – 10% + medal. 5th-8th place – 4%. Entry fee: BRB 500.000 (USD $50) to be paid before the start of the tournament. No players will be allowed to play without paying entry fee. Dress Code: Trousers, plain shirt and shoes. Waistcoat and bow tie must be worn starting frоm the main stage.
