Internet petitions only carry symbolic value. They do, however, - TopicsExpress

Internet petitions only carry symbolic value. They do, however, present valuable advantages: * They provide solace and validation to the grieving family * They validate the effort of the petitions originator * They give an idea of how many people who have access to a computer and know how to use it care enough to read what happen and are willing to take action from the comfort of their homes or the convenience of their mobile phone,,,,.... by signing the petition, * a smart legislative aide to the supervisor of the district where the victim was killed may keep track of names on the petition who are registered voters on their district, to get a sense of where the public opinion goes on the cybernet ground of their district. But it cannot replace paper petitions, with a valid signature, a zip code, a name spelled correctly, and an address (the Homeless can still legally sign if their signed name is their birth name, and indicate a street corner where they usually are).
