Internship Programme Internships are work-based training programmes that offer trainees work experience related to their field of study in order to complete a Qualification e.g. a Diploma. Interns are placed on a 12 - 18 month contract and receive a monthly stipend. It is important to note that with regards to internships, interns are required to meet the work experience requirements of the Higher Education Institution in order to be awarded a qualification. At the end of the internship, interns who meet SARS’s requirements and apply for an available vacancy may be placed in a permanent position. SARS’s internships are aimed at final year students at Higher Education Institutions (HEIs), Further Education and Training (FET) Colleges as well as unemployed graduates who wish to pursue a career at SARS.
