Interstellar.... I am sure some of us can remember Peter OTooles Scottish Play, the reviews for which were so bad it sold out overnight. For sheer awfulness, of course, Blind Date was the sort of programme you watched because it was unbelievably bad. Once met someone who said his uncle was a script writer for it (he admitted it???) and someone else I knew had a friend who won a date on it and only saw the girl with whom he was on the date when the filming happened. I doubt anyone in the Arts has not at some time experienced a crit that has made them mutter that death is too good for this apology for a human being and wish they had written Regers Sir, I am sitting in the smallest room in my house right now. Your critique is in front of me. In several seconds it will be behind me... Mind you, I wish, some years ago I had read the crit of ENOs Masked Ball and not gone (the one that started with loo seats) as that was totally awful. Today Camilla Long did a pretty good job on Interstellar lines such as 165 million dollar blockbuster, but almost nothing was spent on the script...A A Gill must have wished he had written that! Has anyone seen it? Is it really as bad as they say? I like Space Fiction but this really sounds like something to avoid.
