Introducing Emma Stone Fairy Bread. Here’s Emma Stone and Andrew Garfield in the café today. We don’t usually publish pics of celebrities that come here, mostly because we have no idea who they are, I don’t know who anyone is anyway and maybe they are not really celebrities and no one cares anyway… however there is a reason this time for the picture and the story. The tragic truth is that Emma Stone has never had fairy bread. Never. Not only has she never had it she didn’t even know what fairy bread was. We know this because when she came in she was asking questions about Fairy Bread and what it was and things. I guess she’d seen it on the menu and was curious. I’m not sure how many cafes have Fairy Bread on the menu: not many I suspect. There’s probably a good reason for this. In my opinion Fairy Bread is every child’s birthright. It’s every Australian’s birthright. A kid’s party is not complete with out it. I guess it just doesn’t exist where Emma is from. Then, Andrew Garfield says he has no idea what it is either, and he’s English. It’s astonishing, surly the English have Fairy Bread? Sadly the answer is no. I had no idea how advanced our culture was in global terms. So we make Emma our Fairy Bread and she says it’s lovely and seems to mean it. I think she did. Our hope is that this great national dish, one that defines our cuisine will now find it’s way back to California. In a year’s time if you read about Fairy Bread being huge in LA, you’ll know who to thank/ blame. I’ll publish a cookbook, The Fairy Bread Cook Book and go on Oprah. I know Oprah will totally love it, you can tell. Anyway… So we decide that to better advance the cause of Fairy Bread that the Fairy Bread here at Parliament on King will henceforth be known as Emma Stone Fairy Bread. And there you have it, one menu item renamed. Another mystery is what are these people doing in Newtown on a sleepy Tuesday? And who is sending these people to the café in my living room? I’d love to figure this out. Think about it, you are a celebrity, you fly the Atlantic, arrive in Sydney and you spend your first afternoon on the unfashionable end of King St at a Café that not many people know about. It’s a mystery. Tuesdays are mysterious. The Fairy Bread has a New Name. Come to the café in our living room and have Fairy Bread. And the photo, thats Addison from Warhols Children, he just couldnt help himself.
