Inverness breaks ice with county leaders INVERNESS — Inverness city officials took the first step on Tuesday to find “a pathway of commonality” with county commissioners regarding issues, such as funding Whispering Pines Park, that have caused a rift between the two elected bodies. In addition, Inverness City Manager Frank DiGiovanni, representing members of the Inverness City Council, outlined a list of several other issues they want to work on with the county. With the council members seated in the audience, DiGiovanni made the presentation to the Citrus County Board of County Commissioners at the BOCC’s regular meeting. DiGiovanni said he and the city council wanted to “open a dialogue.” “Not on one or two issues, but on several issues to see how we, as a community, are working together and can continue moving forward,” DiGiovanni said. chronicleonline/content/inverness-breaks-ice-county-leaders
