Inverted Religion Is Also A Religion There are people who instead of believing in a god that created humans, they believe that humans can create a god through technological singularity. This AI-god would endlessly expand in intelligence, power and size and take over the entire universe. This sort of belief is a kind of inverted religion. Hugo de Garis named them as cosmists. By definition, we cannot predict what can come after the technological singularity because we cannot significantly predict what an entity far more intelligent than us will do, yet cosmists fanatically believe that it will create an all powerful and omniscient AI-god. They even do not care if a runaway self-evolving, super-intelligent and autonomous AI might decide to wipe out humankind for whatever reason. Of course, strategically they fiercely deny this possibility. Yet, they are ready to sacrifice themselves in the altar of the singularity AI-god. Others, want to incorporate AI hardware/software in their bodies because their ambition is to become themselves the singularity AI-god. It is the latest modality of narcissistic power-trip. It would not be a surprise that these individuals would bastardize, like it was done with words like freedom, the word scientific by calling anti-scientific whoever seems to oppose the creation of their future singularity AI-god. Furthermore, like what happens with followers of religions and ideologies, they are starting to use all the ordinary logical fallacies like name-calling, misrepresentation, denigration, appeal to authority, false accusations, arrogance, etc. as a mean to gag people who they see as potential or real objectors to their fanatical beliefs. They do not realize that despite having some scientific or technological knowledge, when they start to irrationally believe and worship a singularity AI-god they are not too different from the old religionists who believe in the biblical god.
