Iran condemns attack on Zaynab shrine in Syria Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Seyyed Abbas Araqchi has condemned the terrorist attack on the holy shrine of Sayyida Zaynab (AS) in the suburbs of the Syrian capital, Damascus. Araqchi on Saturday called on international circles, particularly Islamic bodies, to fulfill their responsibility toward safeguarding Islamic sanctities and do their best to prevent crimes against humanity, which run counter to international and Islamic regulations. On Friday, mortar shells hit the holy shrine of Sayyida Zaynab (AS) in the suburbs of the Syrian capital. The shells were fired by the foreign-backed militants operating inside Syria.
