Is India a Hitch in the BRICS? Of all the countries in the BRICS coalition India is the most problematic. There are strong fascistic tendencies throughout Indian society, what with Hitler and Mein Kampf achieving almost iconic status in certain quarters. Modi has a strong fascistic corporatist bent as well. All in all it is not surprising that India and Japan should find a high degree of compatibility with one another. On the other hand Indias long standing alliance and friendship with the Soviet Union and them Russia runs counter to the tendency noted above. But that friendship characterized the previous Congress party era so may be somewhat tenuous now. Its obvious that India is playing one side off the other and seeking to maximize its own advantage.
