Is K State Football too relevant too soon? The K State football team has always considered the underdog role as the way of the wildcat. This week K State managed to off an Oklahoma team that many considered a shoe in for the new college playoff format. The thing many of the fans did not expect is R E S P E C T coming from that win. The Cats took a #11 ranking in both major polls and talks of the four schools looking in to be the fourth spot in the playoffs. There is still a lot of football to play in the Big 12. Yes K State is favored to win the next two home games against Texas and Oklahoma State, but it is the three road games that have Cat fans on edge. After the homecoming against OSU, the Wildcats go on the road against TCU and West Virginia. They have a bye week with KU coming to Manhattan Thanksgiving weekend. Then it is on the road to Baylor. Any of these last 6 teams can be the spoiler Cat fans would dread. Win them all and hope to meet up with Auburn again in the playoffs would be the sweet icing on an already exciting season.
