Is it Here we go again???. Is the deck again being stacked? I have heard from good sources that neither SLED nor FBI investigated the botched sales tax vote. Is it true? If so, why? Is Columbia and Richland County now the most untrustworthy places in SC? Add the HUD/Benjamin lawsuit, plus all the other shenanigans we always hear about, and it appears….. This side of the river is going to lose it to that side, especially if that side effectively buys our mayor and the vote for a strong mayor. If you have any voting problems, report them IMMEDIATELY! Let the poll workers know. have them call election headquarters. File a complaint. let me know and I will publicize it. But do it IMMEDIATELY! Who was it that said, It is not the votes that count, but who counts the votes that counts? Call IMMEDIATELY!!! __________________________________________________________________ From: Eaddy Roe Willard- RCGOP Chairman [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Eaddy Roe Willard- RCGOP Chairman Sent: Tuesday, November 05, 2013 12:57 PM To: josephazar@upstairsaudio Subject: Election Day: Problems Reported in Some Polling Locations Stay up-to-date on RCGOP events- Like us on Facebook! ELECTION DAY Updates NOVEMBER 5, 2013 Dear Republican Friends: It’s Election Day, and already there are reports of voting machine problems and long lines, and at this point, only reported from conservative leaning districts. For instance: • Two people tried to vote for a particular mayoral candidate, but the opponent’s name appeared as “selected.” instead. This happened four times. • Another voter reported that only one candidate’s name was listed for the Mayor’s race on the machine where he was voting; • In some precincts, long lines were reported this morning due to confusion from having to sign in twice: once for the City elections, and then for the County referendum. The problem was resolved eventually but several voters reported having to leave before being able to vote. “We must be the Change we want to see in the world,” Mahatma Gandhi Change may not happen “overnight” or for this election, but it does happen if we persist. What to do: If you or someone you know experiences irregularities, report any problems to the Elections Clerk in charge of that location. But afterwards, we must make sure the incident is recorded for public record. • First, document what happened by filling out and signing an affidavit; essentially, a memo that is signed and ideally, witnessed by a notary. • Second, we present this at the Board of Electors meeting that certifies the election results, thereby making the complaint part of the public record (if the persons involved cannot attend this meeting, either the Party Chair or Candidate can present their affidavit, reading it into the public record, and therefore also making it known to media in attendance. • Third, we report this to the SC House of Representatives Election Law Subcommittee Chair Alan Clemmons (who, by the way, was our speaker at the RCGOP June meeting). This will help when the House considers more election law reforms this January. If the Richland County Delegation cannot make the necessary changes so that the voters of Richland County trust the election process, it is necessary to make our case heard at the State level, so please encourage voters who have experienced voting problems that they can make a difference. Please feel free to call me and thank you for being vigilant.
