Is your kid having reading problems??? ----- DO NOT assume their Teacher is well educated -Take it upon YOURSELF to google -------------Jean Piaget Developmental Theory --- You owe it to your child to read this --- In a nut shell - it says that Childrens brains develop at different rates & a child will NOT be able to read no matter how hard he or she tries until the section of their brain needed to be able to read is developed -- in some children it develops very young -- In others -- It might not happen until 8 - 9 - or 10 years old . ---- So ---- In your first meeting with your reading challenged childs new teacher --- break out the big guns ----- Begin a discussion of the Jean Piaget Developmental Theory --- Make sure YOU have read & understand it ---- If the teacher doesnt seem to understand this ---- GET YOUR KID THE HELL OUT OF THERE FAST! --------- The damage done by someone who thinks your kid is just a dumb ass or lazy bastard can be permanent -- Remember -- If your kid is having reading problems under age 10 -- I would guess there is above a 50% chance -- maybe as high as 80% - that it is totally a development issue & having your child in a blameless - happy place is of utmost importance ---- OR ----- YOU WILL END UP HAVING AN ATTITUDE PROBLEM to deal with also.- Nobody profits from being viewed as a dumb ass when they are doing their best. ----- This is just another instance where love & patience win the battle ---- save the ass smackings for when they actually do something wrong -- Hug them for trying & assure them they will win the battle in time --- THERE IS NOOoo CORRELATION BETWEEN SLOW DEVELOPMENT & FINAL INTELLIGENCE - NONE!!!!! ---- It wouldnt hurt a damn thing to read the theory to them & talk about it with them too! ---- Then ----- Read them an exciting story that demonstrates how much fun reading is !!!!!!!!!! --- Triple Heeeee!
