Isaiah 25:8 He will swallow up death in victory; and the Lord GOD will wipe away tears from off all faces; and the rebuke of his people shall he take away from off all the earth: for the LORD hath spoken it. ************************************************************************* We have all experienced the feeling of being let down when someone tells us they are going to do something for us but then they don’t. We make plans based on their word and we have expectations of what is about to happen and then…..nothing. They don’t follow through with their promise and for whatever reason or excuse we get let down and feel dejected. It is unfortunate that so many lives are full of broken promises. The broken promises lead to shattered hearts and the result is a mistrust of everyone. This is particularly damaging to young people who are still trying to find their way in life and have expectations of those caring for them that their needs will be met. Unfortunately we all have limitations and our circumstances in life dictate our ability to provide for our loved ones. It is for this reason that we must be very careful of the promises we make because in reality we don’t have the authority or power to know that we will be able to keep them. However we do have a heavenly Father that we can count on and be assured His word is true and His promises will be kept. He cannot lie and He has all authority and power to keep every promise. When His Word says “the Lord has spoken it” we can be assured it will happen. “He will swallow up death in victory; and the Lord GOD will wipe away tears from off all faces; and the rebuke of his people shall he take away from off all the earth: for the LORD hath spoken it.”
