IsrACTION DAY AND THE BDS. PLEASE READ AND SHARE..... This Sunday, as we hope you will be aware, is the first ever IsrACTION Day. IsrACTION Day is a remarkably simple yet effective way of getting you, the community, to show your solidarity with Israel, to help beat the boycotts AND, perhaps most importantly, help those in need at this time of year. Across the country groups, organizations and individuals will be heading to their local mainstream supermarkets buying Israeli-made goods or produce (Note: If Israeli products aren’t available, any non-perishable food is fine!). From there they will turn around and donate them to local homeless charities and food banks. This initiative has turned out to be so popular that virtually every major Jewish communal organization in the UK has supported IsrACTION day, which has the potential to bring so much to so many less fortunate than ourselves after what by any measure has been a rough year. A Major Donation Here in Brighton SFI is delighted to announce that we have received a major donation by the Israel Solidarity Campaign to insure the day’s success. We can ensure you that every penny will be going to help those in need this holiday period. ISC’s contribution will help guarantee that IsrACTION Day has a real, tangible impact and help make it an annual event. As expected, of course, all of this is not enough for one group of people: those who hate everything associated with Israel, even when it clearly has the potential to do some good. In one instance they tried to sabotage our efforts by spreading lies about the initiative. So, after contacting one of the participating supermarkets, we were given the name of a charity with whom that supermarket works closely in Brighton. Thanks to the ISC we will be making a considerable donation of food to this exceptionally worthwhile group. The work they carry out in Brighton is sorely needed and is accomplished with virtually no budget or financial assistance. We consulted with them as to their needs and how best our efforts would help and will make sure that the most suitable products will get to those most in need. Unfortunately we have decided to withhold the name of this charity for fear of intimidation, bullying or aggression by members of the Brighton BDS. How sad is that? Recently Brighton BDS tweeted all local food banks warning them of ‘food bank stunt by the Zionist.’ It is truly sad reflection of today’s world when charities have to be worried about accepting anything from Zionist organizations or Israeli made produce! It goes to prove once and for all that these peoples hate for Israel far outweighs any thing they once thought important. But be assured, IsrACTION Day will go proceed as planned. It promises to be a massive success and it will do some measurable good. All we need is for you to join in. This Sunday with your help we will ‘Beat the Boycotts – and Help The Homeless.’ Am Yisrael Chai And Chag Sameach Simon
