It always makes me cringe when folks continually demonize a whole religion for violent acts or other wrongdoings while ignoring the huge body count, terrorism, oppression, coercion, and tyranny that comes (or has come) from the imperialistic endeavors of such countries as the U.S., Russia (and former U.S.S.R.), Britain, Japan, France, Germany, China, and so on. People need to start realizing that nothing has left such death, destruction, terror, and tyranny in the past century than imperialistic conquest, blind nationalism, totalitarian statism, and war profiteering. Religious fanaticism does not hold a candle to the death and mayhem caused by nation states and the ruling elites need to control more territory, resources, and people. Now, Im far from making excuses for the violence and terror that comes from true religious fanaticism, but at the same time, I can neither stomach hypocrisy or double standards when it comes to the use of violence, coercion, theft, terror, and fraud. ~Andrew
