It amazes me how people mis-interpret Christians. I think one of the problems is, it is clear, mono-theistic (one God) belief that leaves no room for other Gods. People of other religions dont like this because they think we are judging them. I am not God and who am I to judge someone else, I dont even deserve what God has done for me. But when you think about it how could we have a total belief in something that is not clear? Would God really leave us with no way of knowing anything specific about his character? If so how could we ever have a true belief in something that is grey, undefinable. Sure we could make up God to be what ever we wanted him to be in our own minds, but wouldnt that just be an extension of our own imagination? I personally believe God is who he is regardless of who we would like him to be. Can we know everything about his character? Of course not, we would have to be as powerful. The Bible says God IS love, and what would a God of love want from his creatures? A relationship of love with his creatures. Why is there pain then? Because he would have to be JUST in order to love. One cant have love without justice. We see this demonstrated on the cross, we see his justice for humanity by taking on our sins on the cross, at the same time we see his love for humanity by giving us a pardon and a way to reach him. He offers his love and justice to all. Its free, a gift, He left beautiful creation for us, He left His Word, he even sent his son for us....how else could he reveal himself to us? Just something to think about,...
