It blows me away that there is this much obscurity surrounding this (even proof at this point), but people continue to line up to pump shit into themselves and their kids all in the name of preventing a little sickness. I guess thats easier than taking care of your immune system with sound nutrition and good movement. If your research on the subject matter includes listening to your doctor or reading a cute little flyer from your docs office, I have nothing for you. The negative effects of mercury in the human body are out there and have been for quite some time. There is no argument at this point. It doesnt belong in your body. Risk vs reward people. End of story. As a pediatrician, who has been a fellow of the American Academy of pediatrics (AAP) for two decades, I find the AAPs approach to the autism epidemic to be deeply disturbing. Not only have they allowed the myth of better diagnosing (as the reason for all the notice given to affected children) to be perpetuated, but when they were put on notice at the Center for Disease Control and Preventions (CDCS) Simpsonwood meeting in 2000, that the mercury in the preservative thimerosal was causing speech delays and learning disabilities, they obfuscated and hid that information. For all above reasons, I will no longer enable the AAP to be party to the damage that is being done to the worlds children by sending in my dues for a third decade. It is a token protest, but it has to begin with someone. ~Kenneth P. Stoller, MD My Open Letter to The American Academy of Pediatrics
