It bothers me so much when I see people mention something about buying a new computer or similar topic and a ton of people start responding with things like Dont but X brand! Theyre terrible!, Xs are the best!, and Buy an X, every other brand Ive had has had X problem! I can tell you Ive had multiple of every major brand computer, laptop and desktop, old quality builds and modern disposable builds. It has nothing to do with the brand, it has to do with how uneducated you are when making the purchase. If youre a cheapskate and buy some $400 POS, it doesnt matter what brand, its still a $400 POS. If you dont take proper care of the laptop, it doesnt matter what brand it is, because you didnt take care of it. If you dont understand how the software (INCLUDING the operating system) works and what maintenance and security measures have to be taken, it wont matter what brand because you dont understand how to operate the damn thing in the first place. When a component like your hard drive or battery fails, you cant complain about it being X brand or not being covered by the warranty because there are certain parts that just fail and need replaced sometimes, just like your car, deal with it and get it fixed, its part of taking care of your computer. If theres some seemingly random problem and you have to restore or reinstall the operating system to fix it, dont whine, it happens, and it was probably because you didnt know what you were doing in the first place. I have an old laptop that was manufactured in 1988 and its one of my primary computers I use on a daily basis. Why? Because I know how to take care of my equipment and I understand whats involved in owning and maintaining a computer. My rant is over, thank you for listening.
