It bothers me when people get hostile defending their beliefs - especially when they are religious ones. Being militant about your supposed peaceful convictions is a bit paradoxical, dont you think? Look... if you are in the group that likes to say Christmas instead of holidays or you want to put the nativity scene in your front yard, go for it. You wont ruin my day as a result. I just wish that the same people who get up in arms about it would stop to think about the other seven billion people that cohabit this planet and the thousands of belief systems that comprise so many complex cultures. If you want to tell me merry Christmas, please do so. I will take it with the warmth and sincerity that are most likely behind the statement. Just do not raise a fist to me when I say happy holidays. It means I respect you and wish you well... and that I respect other beliefs and cultural ideals and traditions equally and that your belief and my belief are not the only beliefs that matter.
