It gives me great pleasure to inform you that my Motion on cable theft has just been accepted by the Tshwane Council. Basically it reads that frequent inspections needs to be done by the Metro Police @ scrap dealers. A summit with stakeholders on cable theft is to be convened. Tshwane is starting to draft their own By Law on trade in second hand goods. Council to receive feedback on amounts lost. Security measures to be implemented (cannot disclose this info). Cable theft were always seen as a some kind of an irritation to the Metro. It is now a priority issue!
