It has been a refreshing technology-free weekend spent with loved ones. Regretfully, choosing to wing it and be off the grid for a couple of days kept me from touching base with several of my NOLA friends, but the weekend has been beautiful. The Saints lost miserably, but its been a weekend of celebrating entertainment industry success for so many of my close friends and some of the best people Ive ever met. Also, one of the best projects Ive appeared in, Woodkids Golden Age music video, received a Grammy nomination! (Congrats to Garrett Kruithofs amazing son who starred in the video, as well as fellow actors Shawnia Willson, and Matt Page who spent three long, fun days filming an awesome project.) Thank you, Mike Dickerson for being an incredible companion who is unbelievable at celebrating birthdays. After impatiently giving me early birthday gifts all last week, I definitely didnt expect to be surprised this morning with a skydiving trip. And when it got rained out after we were all ready to go, he ran through the aquarium with me (planning scuba trips and what to add to our own massive aquarium) and arranged a haunted carriage ride with my favorite local driver & mule team. My parents, grandparents, and a couple of amazing friends really went above and beyond to make this weekend special, and I couldnt be more fortunate. Wonderful food, spontaneous adventures, love and comfort... Thank you, Dawn Landrum, George Jr Landrum, LoisCheryl Butts Landrum, George Robert Landrum, Han Soto, Jazzy Ellis, Sam Medina, Christine Tonry, and everyone who has contacted us to send birthday wishes. My cup runneth over. Life has been difficult, but intense. A struggle, but rewarding. I count myself privileged to never reach a new year of living without feeling gifted to still be alive. We have lost loved ones this year. Every year. I am eternally grateful to pursue another raw, loved, challenged, exciting year with you all. ♡
