It has been a week since Tracys first chemo treatment and he continues to do relatively well. He has bouts of extreme weakness and considerable pain that moves from spot to spot. Extra pain meds and sleep seem to work the best. God has blessed us, no nausea so far for Tracy. I have been fixing favorite foods and comfort foods brought by family and friends hoping to strengthen him for whats ahead, enticing him with small meals or bites whenever he feels he can eat. Tracy has had problems with swelling and soft tissue soreness/rawness leaving his throat, mouth even his tongue uncomfortable and his voice strained, long chats with his family have been put on hold for now. He says its like trying to eat or talk after having major work done at the dentist. His spirits are good and always seems to feel better right about when the girls come home from school. As many have said, if theres pain then you know the chemo is doing its job. I envision the vintage PAC-man character chomping away at the cancer cells, complete with sound affects! Another big thank you to family and friends for all the prayers and support. God is our strength!
