It has been a while since we offered a travel tip. Recently a friend got hit with an Early Departure Fee. This is the fee hotels charge when you decide to check-out a day or 2 early. The best way to avoid this is to confirm your departure date when you check in. If you let the hotel know what day you are departing when you check in, even if it is a day or 2 earlier than the reservation was made for, they will usually always make the adjustment with no charges or penalties. Once you have checked in, if you make the change, you will be charged.
