It has been for a very long time in my mind to have a site dedicated to the scrifices made by our Gorkhalis to the state of India, England and other from the earliest of days. On searching for such a site or for such a book it saddened me very much that their were none. Where are the intellectuals who say they are doing so much for the betterment of us, where is our history in the land we call motherland and have and still been spilling blood and sweat without a blink of an eye? Are we just Bahadurs with no history to look back to? Are we to just lay down and do nothing for our own while others are changing history to suit them? Why we such, is it in our genes to take whatever comes our way without bothering about future? There are many more questions that we have to answer to ourselves for our future generation or we will be doomed with just the word Bahadur stuck to us forever. We are Bahadurs not doubt about that as our forefathers have earned it with their blood, we are proud to be known as Bahadurs but their much more to that which every person has to understand. In this quest of mine, which I know there are many more like me out there, I request all the proud Gorkhalies to please provide this facebook of mine, sorry OURS, as many facts with solid proof and photographs of the Brave Gorkhalies whom you think should have their names and their brave exploits written in the history books for the world to read and appreciate. The story can be not just of bravery (which I know will be many) but of anything that will make a mark in the field of humanity. Why iam saying with solid proof and photographs of the person, is because, we donot want the world to point accusing fingers at us, do we? For starters, I would prefer, historical facts of our participation in the Independence struggle of India. No, no this does not mean other stories are to wait, no they too are eargly expected. Please for the Gorkhas, lets start a movement to show the world how we have been ignored in the history of various countries and we are more than just Bahadurs, we are Gorkhas a race that are as adapt and capable as any other race. I hope this will be well recieved by others too as this is not in any way to show them in bad light, but to enlighten them about us and our capabilities. Thank you Shiv Gurung
