It has been implied that genetic engineering is the solution to mankinds ills. Parents (who can afford the procedures) will be choosing how strong, intelligent and attractive their children will be, or most likely the best they can afford them to be. It should be painfully obvious to anybody with half a brain that such things are in no way going to promote the liberal ideas of equality. In reality quite to the contrary, the social rift between those who possess wealth and privileged will no longer be confined to the material hierarchy, but will surely trickle over into the physical side as well.But, it could be even worse. Imagine the technology to give a person a better memory, or specific physical traits did exist. We would then be just a breath away from being able to engineer a person predisposed to specific feelings, ideas and patters of thought. That is not to say such things are not already being done, the social engineering methods of guiding things like public opinion, religions and population anxiety are well known, and plain to see for any sane human being. But these methods could become a thing of the past. the same mechanism that makes people afraid of spiders for example could then be engineered and manipulated to make a person fear or hate whomever or whatever the programmers may choose. And do it all without billions of dollars spent on electronic media and external brainwashing and suggestion. No more than a simple shot for a pregnant mother maybe, as part of pre-natal care. Perhaps even eliminating or reducing the chance of the person rejecting the suggestions put forth by the ruling ogliarchs.
