It is always an honor to be called to photograph a birth. I find - TopicsExpress

It is always an honor to be called to photograph a birth. I find that to be one of the most raw moments in a familys life and what better way to capture those moments than through photos. I was so excited when Melissa responded to an add I had put up looking for guinea pigs. You see, birth photography is something I have completely fallen in love with however not many folks think to have such an important moment in time captured in photos. Therefore, the calls for birth photography are few and far between. When Melissa called me her biggest concern was that because she was pregnant with twins (twin A was breech), she was going to have to have a c-section. We planned for me to try to come back with her however, due to the nature of how things moved, etc that was not possible. So what was planned and what transpired were totally different things. I waited patiently with the parents of Melissa & her husband, aka soon to be grandparents, and watched as the flutter of excitement filled the waiting room. Then the moment arrived they received texts that their grandsons had arrived. What a joyous moment. It was fun to watch them stare at pictures and compare the boys noses and how big they were in comparison to each other. A totally different perspective than I had initially intended. Just like each person is different so is each birth and the memories that are captured surrounding it. I am honored that the Dawson family chose me to capture these moments. Its always a blessing to see a new life and this time I got to see 2 :) Enjoy their video! video214/play/fWSP4knfWpX8hyg730YPYQ/s/dark
