It is good to be home! I spent two weeks in Washington, DC as a participant in the Smithsonian Institutions National Museum of the American Indian Artist Leadership Program. Four artists were selected for this program and we received technical training and assistance in preparing our presentations, which we gave for Cultural Resources Center staff, NMAI staff, and again before the public panel discussion. We were able to photograph and study objects in the various collections and archives. It was an amazing, overwhelming experience and I gained a lot of knowledge and new information. Below is a link to the public presentations. You can view each artists individual presentation separately, or just the panel discussion, or the 4 artist presentations leading into the panel discussion. Two participants are from South America and speak Spanish, but Irmas husband graciously interpreted for both Irma and Anita.
