"It is more blessed to give than to receive" is not a statement to coerce you to give or to entreat you to give for the sake of getting in return. Giving is a biblical principle that means whatever you give will be multiplied back to you. Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you." (Luke 6:38) People like to think the "it" that is multiplied back is money. That is not always the case. The "it" is whatever you give. It could be money, love, friendship, kindness, compliments, respect, etc. Whatever is given will be multiplied back to the giver. However, what is received is not multiplied to the recipient.
